GROWING IN FAITH
Sunday School at Bow Mills United Methodist Church is a spiritual adventure every week for preschoolers to adults! We teach our children the stories of the Bible so that they can know of God's love for them and the world, and so they can grow as adults toward a more mature Christian faith, paying attention to how God wants them to live. We offer our adults the opportunity to continue the journey of spiritual formation through Sunday School classes and small group studies.
Sowers of the Seed—Adult Spiritual Growth Formation
The adults explore a variety of topics over the course of the year, engaging in Biblical studies, spiritual formation studies, and topics of concern to growing Christians. The classes are taught both by lay and clergy, and are open to everyone.
Learning and Growing–Children & Elementary Youth Ministry
Age 3–Preschool
Younger children engage in hands–on learning of Bible stories, with age–appropriate activities through singing, drawing, craft projects and story telling. Ages 3+.
Kindergarten–Grade 3
Children in these grades participate in WoRM—The Workshop Rotation Model which offers: The same Bible story for four weeks, as children need repetition to learn and comprehend. Each week is different, as the children go to a new workshop to learn the Bible story through a different medium. Workshops have included drama, puppets, cooking, Bible knowledge games, video tools, newspapers, and much more. For more information about the model, go to www.rotation.org. The workshops link the Biblical message to the present day, helping children learn that Christianity is a way of life, with love of God and neighbor at the center.
