Leadership Groups

Pastor:
|
- The Pastor keeps
the church rooted in God, attentive to the presence of Christ, and
open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. The Pastor's task is to
lead the people in prayerful living and faithful discipleship.

|
Lay Leader:
|
- The lay leader helps church
members engage in ministry, connecting them with opportunities,
resources and relationships through which they engage in ministry.
|
|
|
|
Church
Council:
|
- The Church Council envisions,
directs and supports the church's ministry, and connects all the
various groups. The main decision-making body of the church, the
Council asks, "Where is God leading Bow Mills, and how can
we faithfully respond?"
|
|
|
|
Resource Committees
|
| Resource committees provide the
church with the physical, financial and human resources for ministry. |
|
|
|
Staff-Parish
Relations Committee (SPRC):
|
- The SPRC discerns what kind
of pastoral leadership the church needs to fulfill its ministry,
set goals and directions for pastoral ministry, and sees to it that
both the pastor and the congregation have what they need in order
to faithfully carry out their ministry. They also determine paid
staffing needs and oversee the paid staff.

Trustees:
|
- The trustees lead the church
in caring for its buildings, equipment, real property and assets
so that it has the physical resources to carry out ministry. They
are also the legal representatives of the church.
|
|
|
|
Finance
Committee:
|
- The finance committee sees
to it that the church's collection, accounting and expenditure of
money are faithfully carried out so to support its ministry.
|
|
|
|
Stewardship
Committee:
|
- The stewardship committee
invites people to deepen their faith through the generous commitment
of their prayers, their presence, their gifts and their service
to the church.
|
|
|
|
Lay Leadership
Committee:
|
- The Lay Leadership Committee
helps people determine their spiritual gifts and how God is calling
them into service, and invites them into positions of ministry and
leadership according to their gifts and callings.

and implement ministries and draw people into ministry through organized
church programs and in daily personal discipleship. |

Committee: |
Worship Arts &
Environment Team |

The Worship Committees help design and provide for worship that is
deeply engaging and transformative, and engages members of the congregation
in leading and contributing to our corporate worship. Worship Arts
& Environment designs and creates the adornments of the sanctuary
so that the visual environment enriches our experience of the liturgical
seasons and the worship themes. |

- The
Hospitality committee helps engage the church in reaching
out to people both within and beyond our membership, welcoming them into the Christian community and discipleship.

McKenna House Team |
- The Mission and
Outreach Committees help the congregation to serve the poor and powerless
in the world around us. They engage us in ministries of peace and
justice through local outreach, social action, Conference ministries
and global mission of the United Methodist Church and the whole Body
of Christ. |
